Three rivers. Two Andys. One reinvented city. No wonder National Geographic Traveler named Pittsburgh among the best places in the world to experience in 2012.
“On all counts, the Steel City’s transformation over the past long concluded, this western Pennsylvania city changed jobs and reclaimed major assets: a naturalsetting that rivals Lisbon and San Francisco, a wealth of fine art and architecture, and a quirky sense of humor,” writes the National Geographic Traveler.
Named one of the world’s “prettiest” cities by Huffington Post, Pittsburgh is arguably the only city with an entrance. As you exit the Fort Pitt Tunnel, the city breaks out in a dramatic presentation – causing visitors to exclaim, “Wow! Who knew?”
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?”

Having a hard time getting to Grandview Avenue, Allegheny County's only state scenic byway? It's easy. Mount Washington has at least 8 roads in and out of the neighborhood in addition to McArdle Roadway. If wanting to get to Grandview Avenue, the Duquesne Incline or one of the fabulous Grandview restaurants, try taking Sawmill Run Blvd (Route 51) and come up the mount using Woodruff Street. Keep going on Merrimac Street and you'll reach Grandview. Or you could take Shaler or Greenleaf Streets for direct access to Grandview Avenue.
VisitPittsburgh.com is the website of the official tourist promotion agency of Allegheny County in the state of Pennsylvania.
